How long does it take for a change in ownership on a paid up life insurance policy?
My parents took out a life insurance policy on me when I was a baby back in 1968. I am not sure as to how long this was paid up & it has accured interest. They are both deceased & I have to send Met Life a copy of both of their death certificates before they can change it to my name & I can cash it in. I am wondering just how long does this process take as far as the change in ownership?
Just as an FYI, I called Met Life yesterday & they had both of my parents info. However since they were the owners of the policy they could not release any info. I do have plans to cash it in no matter what.

The reason i ask is because the life insurance company, IEHP, says my family does not qualify 4 life insurance and medical because we (or they) get too little on life insurance and too much on medical.

My dad died 6 years ago. I was 21 at the time. My mom was remarried. I found out she collected life insurance on him, but she never told me. I found out and I am very upset! How can she collect life insurance on him when her kids are older than 18?
Obviously she was his beneficiary, but I know my dad would not have wanted the money to go to her-as they did not get along very well…
I just think it’s extremely shady and it makes me very angry!

How much can you borrow from your whole life insurance?
I know it doesnt have any cash value until about 3-5 years and that you cant borrow the face value of the policy. If i took out a 50,000 policy on my daughter , in about 5 yrs what could I borrow from it if the premium is 30/month? What % of 50,000 could I take out? i dont want to hear anything about children dont need life insurance. I am taking one out on myself as well anyways. I need exact figures not guesses.
