My grandmother purchased a life insurance policy for on her w/me as the beneficiary many years ago and has misplaced the policy. The bigger issue is she doesn’t remember the name of the insurance company she purchased it from. She knows it was based in Florida but nothing else. Is there any way we may be able to locate the company and get another copy of the policy?

I’m working on a documentary about health insurance claims, but can’t seem to find a solid statistic about how many (potentially life-saving) treatments are prevented by the insurance claims that are denied by companies. A daily or annual figure would be hugely helpful.
(This is only a minor fact to contextualize an individual’s struggle with the healthcare system that is the actual focus of the film).

My husband & I are in the process of taking out life insurance cover for our mortgage, which is being changed from half repayment/half interest to full repayment. We have filled in the application form & got to the stage of me needing a medical report from our GP.The GP has had the request a week. How long will the whole process take once the insurance company get the GP report back? Is it fairly quick?does anyone know?

How much is too much profit for health insurance companies to make?
I keep hearing how some companies made billions in profits but how many billions worth of claims did they pay to earn that profit?
The people that complain that they made billions in profit never say how much they had to spend to earn it. Apparently some people think they are supposed to pay for billions in claims and just break even?
And those of you that want government supplied health care because it cuts out the insurance companies profits: Do you really think the US government would not have big overhead costs? What does the government do now that is more efficient than the private sector, anything?
